Our expertise lies in evaluating structural issues, restoring, strengthening, and upgrading historic structures to meet modern seismic standards. Our team has extensive experience in working on a wide range of historic structures, from lighthouses to fortifications, courthouses to commercial buildings, residential buildings to churches. Our deep understanding of historic materials and construction techniques allows us to find innovative solutions to the unique challenges posed by these structures.

Our Team

Our team of professionals includes two registered structural engineers (SE) with master's degrees in structural engineering, as well as an engineer-in-training (EIT) with a master's degree in structural engineering. Additionally, our team includes three preservationists with graduate degrees in historical preservation or interior architecture. Our staff's extensive preservation backgrounds and focus on long-term conservation and maintenance enable us to advise on, design, and specify repairs for a variety of historic materials.

Our Experience

Bennett Preservation Engineering has a proven track record of successfully completing complex historic preservation projects. From evaluating multiple solutions to presenting advantages and disadvantages of each, we expertly navigate the often-complex approval processes required for work on historic buildings. We have worked on numerous historic structures, including those listed on the National Register of Historic Places and National Historic Landmarks.
