Our Story

Our company was founded by Barney Hanly, a fourth-generation, locally born and raised valley resident who grew up with a passion for construction. Barney began working in the construction industry at a young age, learning the trade from a carpenter who was also a family friend. He went on to acquire his contractor's license and started his own company, which has since grown to include engineering contracting and public works construction.

Our Team

Joining Barney is Linda Hanly, who heads our office staff and has over 20 years of experience in office management. Linda began her career as an office assistant at the age of 15 and has since worked in various offices, including a pipeline construction site at Refugio State Beach in the 1990s.

Our Crew

Our crew consists of experienced equipment operators and laborers who are certified in Safety, Confined Space, Fusion Welding, and Grade 1 Potable Water certification. We take great pride in our team and strive to maintain a positive and efficient work environment, ensuring that our clients receive the highest level of service.

Residential Services

At Hanly General Engineering Corporation, we understand that maintaining the beauty and environmental integrity of residential properties is essential. That's why we offer a range of services, including underground utilities, water, gas, electric, septic, and communications. We also provide excavation and grading services for residential clients. Although most of our work is underground and ultimately covered, we make sure to maintain a clean and organized work environment, allowing homeowners to move freely and minimally disrupting their daily lives.

We specialize in underground utilities, including water, gas, electric, septic, and emergency services.
