At Gradient Technology, we have been providing cutting-edge solutions for military and commercial applications for over two decades. Our journey began in 1994 when our founder, Duane Goetsch, transitioned from academia at the University of Minnesota to build a commercial company focused on chemical engineering research and consulting for the U.S. Defense Industry.

In 1995, our team of engineering professionals and academic researchers started performing independent consulting for local Minnesota firms. A year later, in 1996, Gradient Technology was formally incorporated with the state of Minnesota, and we received our first formal subcontracts for engineering consulting to the U.S. Defense Industry. Our first corporate headquarters were established in the Freshwater Foundation complex in Navarre, Minnesota, where we utilized office and laboratory space for our operations.

In 1997, we were awarded a U.S. Navy research contract for the development of a process to demilitarize Bulk Explosive D. This marked the beginning of our journey in the field of demilitarization, and we have since expanded our services to include a wide range of solutions for military and commercial applications.
