Mibar Engineering LTD is a local Colorado Springs structural and foundation engineering firm primarily focused in the custom home and new construction industry. We were founded in 1999 by Michael and Barbara Reynolds (Mi-Bar) with the intention to provide local home builders in the Colorado Springs area with efficient and low-cost engineering designs. After almost 22 years, Michael Reynolds retired and sold the company to Molly Tolle, who had been working at Mibar as a structural engineer for over 15 years at the time. Since opening, Mibar has completed structural and foundation engineering designs for over 14,000 custom homes, master planned communities, residential additions, and remodels. Currently, we average about 600 projects per year.
Our team of highly-skilled, professional structural engineers is dedicated to providing clients with the best structural engineering design at the lowest cost. Since 1999, we have pressed the importance of quality, detail, and safety - that is what sets us apart from other engineering firms. Structural Engineering
As structural engineers, our main goal is to ensure that all our buildings and infrastructure are safe to use. We offer a few different engineering products, including a Structural Engineering Design. We follow the same process for all our projects to ensure the quality of the end results are consistent.
Our process begins with matching your truss designs to the actual structural design. We then transfer the loads and uplift values of the trusses to size proper connections and tiedowns so your roof will stay connected to your house! Next, we size your headers, trimmers, and king studs for all your window and door openings. We then move onto the sizing of beams and columns for your deck covers and porch covers. All these loads are then transferred down to your floor system. The engineer will size your floor joists, floor beams, and columns to ensure the least amount of bounciness and movement in your floors. The engineer then moves onto designing your decks. Decks can be designed to hold concrete, hot tubs, or even pizza ovens! Our engineer will design your deck joists, beams, columns, and proper attachments to your house. Our engineer will write all these corrections and specifications on your structural sheets, and we will send them back to your draftsmen for corrections.
After all the corrections have been made, our professional engineer will stamp your structural plans, so they are ready to be submitted to the building department. If you also requested Mibar to design your foundation, the plans will be set in our queue to start a Foundation Design.
Foundation Design
Foundation design is the creation of a construction plan for a building foundation. At Mibar Engineering LTD, we offer a few different engineering products. One of our main products is an engineered foundation Design. We follow the same process for all our projects to ensure the quality of the end results are consistent.
Our foundation design includes all the details needed for construction as well as the layout. We draft your foundation design using AutoCAD. Our engineer will review and verify all aspects of the foundation design to ensure it meets local building codes and regulations. Once complete, our engineer will stamp your foundation design, so it is ready to be submitted to the building department.

Our engineers will follow our Structural Design and Foundation Design methods to deliver a stamped design ready to submit to the building department.
