Peak Engineering, Inc. is a Flagstaff-based full-service civil engineering firm that has been providing high-quality services for over two decades. Our team of experienced professionals, led by Julie Leid and Tom Smith, has a deep understanding of the complexities of civil engineering and a commitment to delivering exceptional results.

Our Story

Founded in 2010 by Julie Leid and Tom Smith, Peak Engineering, Inc. has grown into a reputable and respected civil engineering firm in Arizona. Our team consists of six licensed professional engineers who lead and mentor a staff of design engineers. Our firm is registered with the Arizona Corporation Commission and the Arizona Board of Technical Registration.

Civil Engineering

We specialize in improving student safety en route to school by designing student pick-up and drop-off zones, queues, and sidewalks and crosswalks. We also address unique regional conditions such as snow removal, winter building shadows, and strong winds and blowing sand. Our expertise spans from design to implementation, ensuring that our solutions are practical and effective.

Construction Administration

We understand that project management can be a significant challenge for owners and architects. That's why we offer construction administration services, including cost estimates, RFIs, and review of pay applications. We represent the owner's interests on-site and provide support with regulatory compliance, Davis Bacon Wage laws, and certified payroll reviews.

Site Civil & Utilities

Our team has extensive experience in site civil and utility design, including water, reclaimed water, and wastewater extensions and connections, stormwater management systems, and accessible parking facilities and walkways. We also provide support for LEED certification and sustainable site design.

Nau Potter's Square

We led the design team and provided construction phase services for the renovation of an unused dirt lot into outdoor patio seating with a fire pit, central lawn for ceremonies and tented events, and a formal central lighted walkway.

Nau Central Campus Pedway

We led a design team of landscape architects, structural and electrical engineers on the renovation of the central campus pedestrian and bicycle corridor and repurposing of two parking areas, improving accessibility and incorporating universal design strategies.

Northern Arizona University: Greening the Quad

We led the design team and was responsible for survey, design, public support, and construction phase services for the revitalization of the historic North Quad, transforming a former parking lot and roadway into an iconic place on campus for events and community gatherings.

Sedona Skate Park Survey

We coordinated the upgrade of the City of Sedona's skate park to accommodate BMX users, including performing a topographic survey.
