At Shine Engineering P.A., we are a dynamic and innovative engineering firm founded by John M. Shine in April of 2000. We began as a one-man operation but have quickly grown into a thriving company with multiple licensed Professional Engineers on our team. In 2019, we moved to our current location in Parsippany, New Jersey.

Our team is comprised of jack-of-all-trades engineers who are experts in their respective disciplines. We offer a wide range of services including mechanical, electrical, fire alarm, plumbing, and fire protection. Our engineers are cross-trained and knowledgeable in all the other trades of MEP Engineering and basic construction. Our objective in each and every project is to provide high-level technical expertise and design while establishing a rapport and attention to detail that only a small business can offer.

John takes pride in visiting each site so that his designs will be practical, efficient, and tailor-made for each individual. John has established long-term relationships with his clients, including property owners, property managers, contractors, architects, and welcomes new clients and consultations.

Our Services

We offer a variety of services tailored to meet the individual needs of our clients. Our services include:

• Construction Proposals: We provide construction proposals for new construction or renovations that are tailored to meet the individual needs of the tenant, owner, and architects.

• Refrigerated Boxes and Climate Controlled Room for Industrial/Food: We coordinate MEP design of Climate Controlled spaces to fit any process, in any conditions.

• Residencies and Residential Buildings: We provide practical designs that are coordinated from floor-to-floor and trade-to-trade as per the owner's vision.

• Explosion Proof and Clean Rooms: We evaluate and design rooms meeting ISO Clean Room standards, NEC Class 1 Div 1 specifications, IBC Group H requirements, among others.

• Restaurant, Kitchens, Country Clubs, Retail Spaces: Our designs complement architects, interior designers, kitchen planners, and other consultants.

• Office and Commercial Spaces: Our team verifies existing conditions for our trades and documents them on our drawings for easy reference for contractors to price and build.

Our Team

Our team is comprised of highly skilled and dedicated professionals who take pride in the challenge of creating solutions that are economical and practical. Our team includes:

• John M. Shine, PE: Owner and CEO

• Ray Dillon, PE: Ray attended Stevens Institute of Technology, where he received his Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering and played lacrosse. Ray has worked for local firms such as A&J and PMK, and has known John professionally for decades. Ray is licensed as a Professional Engineer in NJ.

• Ryan Ramones, PE: Ryan received his Bachelors in Civil/Environmental Engineering from Rutgers University - New Brunswick. Ryan chose to pursue MEP design after college and worked as an in-house engineer for Tricarico Architecture & Design. After joining John & Ray, Ryan received his Professional Engineer license in NJ.

• Josh Cabrera: Josh received his Bachelors in Architecture from Illinois Institute of Technology. In his professional career, Josh has done surveying, drafting, and designs for both architectural and engineering firms. Josh is typically the person that answers the phone first and usually has a joke on-hand.
