Floodplain & Drainage

At Hewitt Engineering Inc., we provide a wide variety of floodplain management and drainage design consulting services. Our expertise includes preparing numerous FEMA Letter of Map Change (LOMC) submittals, including CLOMR/LOMR and LOMA documents for properties located in Kerr, Gillespie, Kendall, and Bandera Counties. We have also worked on recent projects such as master drainage plans, storm sewer and drainage channel analyses and design, detention storage design, and floodplain delineation studies. Water & Wastewater

Hewitt Engineering Inc. has extensive experience in the planning, design, and construction administration of water and wastewater projects. Our recent water system improvement projects include water supply wells, water lines, booster pump stations, and ground and elevated storage tanks. On the other hand, our wastewater projects include wastewater master plans, gravity sewer line and force main design, lift station analysis and design, and sanitary sewer line rehabilitation. Site & Land Development

Hewitt Engineering Inc. has completed several private commercial and public site development projects in Kerrville and Fredericksburg. Our services include preliminary planning and preparation of Development Site Plans, followed by preparation of final construction documents. Our Team

John M. Hewitt, P.E., C.F.M., is the President of Hewitt Engineering Inc. He is a graduate of the University of Texas in Austin and has served as President of Hewitt Engineering Inc. since 2008. He has more than 37 years of experience primarily in municipal water, stormwater management, wastewater engineering, and site development for public and private commercial projects. Mr. Hewitt's project experience includes water and wastewater system planning and the design of sanitary sewer lines and large diameter transmission water mains, water supply wells, domestic and high-pressure fire protection waterlines, and ground and elevated storage tanks. He has also provided project management and design of sanitary sewer rehabilitation, gravity sewer lines, force mains, and lift stations. Mr. Hewitt has performed numerous hydrologic and hydraulic analyses using HEC-HMS/HEC-1, HEC-RAS/HEC-2, and WinStorm. His project experience includes flood insurance studies, master drainage plans, bridge scour analyses, outfall studies, backwater analyses, storm sewer analyses and design, and detention storage design.
