- Decks, pergolas, patio covers, retaining walls, residential remodels, metal building foundations, and outbuildings.
- Expertise in conventional light-framed wood construction, with the ability to incorporate steel, concrete, and aluminum elements when necessary.

Stig Widell, PE - Principal
Stig Widell is a licensed professional engineer with a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. With over 10 years of experience in the engineering industry, Stig has worked on a wide range of projects, from residential developments to multi-story mixed-use buildings. Outside of work, Stig enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, skiing, or simply relaxing at the beach.
James D. Meese - Design Engineer
James Meese is an experienced engineer with over 30 years of expertise in engineering and design. He specializes in condominiums, multi-family housing, and wood-framed homes. James prides himself on being available to answer questions and ensuring projects move along seamlessly. He adopts a collaborative approach and has fostered strong relationships with his clients and City/County permitting jurisdictions.
Julia Sherman - Office Manager / Bookkeeper
Julia Sherman is the office manager and bookkeeper for Sherman Engineering. With a background in the legal and real estate fields, Julia brings a unique perspective to our office operations. She is responsible for managing the day-to-day financial, personnel, and management operations of the company.
Aaron Widell - Associate
Aaron Widell is a draftsman who joined Sherman Engineering in 2018. With a keen eye for detail and drafting skills, Aaron collaborates with the rest of the team to develop plans and details that are accurate and easy to follow. In his free time, Aaron enjoys making music, painting, and rock climbing.

Sherman Engineering was founded in 1998 by Don P. Sherman, who had a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Oregon State University. Over the years, the company has grown and evolved, with the team acquiring new skills and expertise to meet the changing needs of our clients.
