As the Director of the Engineering department at DeWalt Corporation, it's my charge to evaluate and understand the individuals that make up my department, my team. In order for me to utilize their strengths and develop their weaknesses, I have to understand their personalities, their work styles, and their values.

As I began to think about what to write for this blog, my mind started going in many directions. There are so many topics I'd like to write about: social media, marketing, international conferences, networking, building a team, and specific techniques.

Disappointing Experiences with DEWALT

Several customers have had disappointing experiences with DEWALT's customer service, leading to frustration and dissatisfaction. Bureaucratic Red Tape and Lack of Communication seem to be common issues, causing delays and making it difficult for customers to get their concerns or issues resolved.

One reviewer, Ming C., filed a warranty claim due to a broken pair of angle cutting pliers, only to experience a lack of communication and no updates on the status of their order. Despite following up through email, Twitter, and phone, they were met with no response and no signs of their order being processed.

Another reviewer, Russell Loyd, had a similar experience with DEWALT's customer service. His DEWALT 20v finish nailer developed a problem, and when he contacted the company to request warranty repair, he was told that it would cost $175.00 to fix, despite having only used the product a few times. This led to him feeling disrespected and losing trust in the company.

Lack of Response to Concerns and Unsatisfactory Purchasing Experience

On the other hand, a reviewer, Dean Nicely, had a completely different experience, requesting the possibility of creating a cordless palm sander with 20-lithium. However, since this is not a direct review of customer service, it is not included in the discussion of disappointing experiences.
