Our story began in 2008, when our founder, Matthew Marcello, PE, CME, identified a need for specialized consulting services in the southern New Jersey region. With over 20 years of experience in engineering, inspection, and construction management, Matthew established Marcello Engineering Group to provide expert engineering solutions to architects, builders, and property owners.

• New Design: We provide new structural design services using various materials such as steel, aluminum, concrete, masonry, wood, and engineered wood.
• Repairs/Reinforcements: Our expertise includes repair and reinforcement design for various structural elements, including footings and foundations, retaining walls, steel bar joists, pre-fabricated steel trusses, pre-fabricated wood trusses, heavy timber framing, and heavy timber trusses.
• Evaluation/Emergency: Our team provides consulting services for evaluation and emergency projects, including structural forensic investigations, cause and origin investigations, construction defect remediation, damage and loss assessment, emergency temporary shoring, facade restoration, and historical rehabilitation.

Meet the Team

Our team is led by Matthew Marcello, PE, CME, a seasoned engineer with a strong background in civil and architectural engineering. Matthew is licensed as a Professional Engineer in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and California and is certified as a NJ Certified Municipal Engineer and NJ Special Inspector. He is also actively involved in professional associations such as the ACE Mentor Program of America, the New Jersey Chapter, the American Institute of Steel Construction, and the Structural Engineering Institute.
