A.W. Lookup Corporation has been a trusted name in structural engineering services for the architectural and building community for over 70 years. Our journey began in 1948 when the firm was established by Arthur W. Lookup, and since then, we have engineered a diverse range of projects across various sectors. Our portfolio includes large hospital projects, educational facilities, continuing care retirement communities, courthouses, arenas, hotels, system control centers for electric utilities, highly sophisticated laboratory facilities, commercial office buildings, shopping centers, warehouses, light industrial buildings, churches, and many more.

Our team consists of highly experienced professional engineers with registrations in numerous states, as well as CAD and BIM specialists. We are proud members of several professional organizations, including the American Concrete Institute, American Institute of Steel Construction, American Society of Civil Engineers, Delaware Valley Association of Structural Engineers, and the S.E. Certification Board. Our Vice President, John K. Gares, is a LEED AP, demonstrating our commitment to sustainable design practices.

Design Engineering

Design engineering services vary in nature and scope according to specific project requirements. They are typically performed for an Architect or other Prime Professional and include complete responsibility for the structural portions of a project. Our design engineering services include:

• Foundation Design
• Superstructure Design
• Contract Document Production
• Shop Drawing Review/Approval
• Field Observation During Construction

Prime Professional Service

In some cases, we provide complete design responsibility for projects in which the structural work is the predominant discipline. Project types that are especially appropriate for our Prime Professional Service include parking garages, stadiums, industrial buildings, and other types of special structures.

Consultation, Studies, and Reports

We develop answers to a client's special structural engineering problems, including:

• Reports and assistance in litigation for cases involving structural problems
• Design and preparation of construction documents defining special foundations and supports for complex, vibrating, or oscillating machinery
• Reports and structural evaluation of condition, capacity, and suitability for conversion or retrofitting of old or damaged buildings and other structures
