Who We Are

At Keck & Wood, we are proud to be a leading provider of civil engineering, planning, and design services for over 65 years. Our story began in 1954 when our founders, Wylly Keck and Tom Wood, established a small civil engineering firm with a commitment to excellence and exceptional service. Over the decades, we have grown from a small firm to a regional infrastructure practice serving Georgia and South Carolina.

Our History

Our journey began in the 1950s when we established a transportation practice, serving communities such as Gainesville, Cordele, Dublin, and the Georgia Institute of Technology. We received our first Georgia DOT Qualifications in 1979 and have since continued to enjoy successful collaborations with the Georgia Department of Transportation and various county and local transportation groups.

In the 1950s to 1990s, we contributed to the rapid growth of Metro Atlanta through various projects, including the development of MARTA's tunnel system and the regional airport network. To keep up with the region's rapid population growth, we added expertise in water, stormwater, wastewater, and sewer systems.

Our growth and expansion are a direct extension of being a trusted advisor to our clients. A foundational element in our history that remains the hallmark of our business today.

Today, we are a multidisciplinary firm with a geographic reach through multiple offices in Georgia and South Carolina. Our engineers, landscape architects, and planners utilize the latest in technology, communications, and software to provide design solutions based on proven techniques. Our team is rigorous in continuing to advance their knowledge through professional licensure, ongoing training, and contributing to the advancement of engineering through authoring informative articles, technical presentations, and providing thought leadership.
