Established in 1927, Kister Savio & Rei is a multi-disciplined land surveying firm that has earned its reputation as one of the most respected in the San Francisco Bay Area. Our company has a deep understanding of the region, garnered from over nine decades of providing comprehensive services to clients across various sectors, including public and private, industrial and residential development.

Our Story

The company's legacy begins with our founder, Donald E. Kister, who established his land surveying practice in 1927 in the Richmond/El Cerrito area. He was honored to be the first surveyor appointed to serve on the California State Board of Registration of Civil Engineers and Land Surveyors. Later, Charles J. Savio, a licensed land surveyor, joined forces with Kister to form Kister and Savio Associated in 1955. The partnership brought together two seasoned professionals with a shared passion for land surveying. Michael P. Rei, a registered civil engineer, joined the practice in 1963, marking the beginning of Kister Savio & Rei as we know it today.

Our surveyors hold TWIC Cards and are drug-tested through DISA, with training in RSO, Chevron, Tesoro, and Phillips 66.
