K Engineers

K Engineers, Inc. was initially established in 1979 as Kenneth Kok, P.E. Electrical Engineer. The firm underwent incorporation in 2007 and currently consists of one office in one location, with no subsidiaries or associated firms. Our organizational structure is informal and efficient, enabling us to communicate freely with clients and other design team members, and focus on the work required to complete projects. The firm's two managing partners are Steve TeVelde, P.E., and Bill Diephuis, P.E., RCDD. Our partners and staff have extensive experience in a wide variety of electrical systems, telecommunications, and specialty systems. Our experience covers both public and private sectors, including utility, industrial, commercial, educational, recreational, residential, and other miscellaneous projects, both new and renovations of existing facilities.

Our Team

Bill Diephuis, P.E. has been with K Engineers, Inc. since 1998. He has extensive experience in engineering power, lighting, telecommunications, fire alarm, and audio/visual systems of both renovation and new construction projects for various facilities, including schools, universities, health care, churches, residential, utilities, commercial, and industrial. Steve TeVelde, P.E. has been with K Engineers, Inc. since 2000. He has experience in electrical engineering and design of both renovation and new construction projects, including primary power distribution systems, fire alarm systems, sewage and water treatment facilities, research facilities, schools, universities, churches, libraries, fire stations, health care and rehabilitation facilities. Kim Lance has been employed at K Engineers, Inc. since 1992. He is experienced and adept at AutoCAD and Revit drawing software. Kenneth Kok, P.E. founded the firm and was a mentor to us all. Unfortunately, Ken passed away in 2014 from complications of ALS. Scott Larson joined our team in 2015. He has valuable expertise in construction process and project management.

Our Experience

K Engineers has extensive experience with a wide variety of projects, including commercial, industrial, marine, medical, public works, educational, institutional, recreational, and residential projects. We have staff with between 7 and 20 years of experience, a former Registered Communication Distribution Designer (RCDD) on staff, and 3 people who were formerly electricians. Our specialized software tools include AGI32 for lighting calculations and SKM PowerTools for power system analysis. Our experience has taught us what it takes to successfully complete a project. We understand the importance of complete and accurate drawings and specifications and strive to ensure that all projects are released for bidding or construction without any errors. We value teamwork in the successful completion of a project and work efficiently with other disciplines to keep changes to a minimum.
