The National Association of Power Engineers (N.A.P.E.) has been a cornerstone of education and advancement for power engineers and HVAC professionals for over 142 years. Since its inception in 1882, N.A.P.E. has been dedicated to providing career advancement through educational opportunities to its members and the general public. Our commitment to education and training has made us the oldest active Engineering Association in the United States.

Our Story

Our Philosophy

At N.A.P.E., we believe that education is the strongest tool in preventing human error. We support the following principles:

1. Harmony between Employer and Employee: We recognize that the interests of the employer and employee are intertwined and therefore, we do not use our platform to interfere in any way between our members and their employers.

2. Focus on Education: Our meetings are devoted to the education of engineers in all of its various branches and to the business of the Association.

3. No Political or Religious Activities: We do not use our platform for political or religious purposes.

4. Securing and Enforcing Engineering License Laws: Our members pledge to secure and enforce engineering license laws to prevent the destruction of life and property in the generation and transmission of power.
