Innovative Structural Engineering-MD, Inc. (ISE-MD) is a full-service, "turn-key" structural design firm located in Bel Air, MD. Since our establishment in 2008, we have managed multiple projects throughout the U.S. in all sectors of the building industry. We believe that customer service is the most important aspect of all business relationships. Our team's extensive knowledge base and skills allow us to handle any solar engineering project.

Our staff has over 50 years of combined design and project management experience and will apply that knowledge to provide the focus on customer service that is the hallmark of our company and helps to ensure the success of your project. ISE has engineering licenses in 36 states plus D.C.

Executive Team

Our team is comprised of high-level expert engineers and designers who are capable of managing every detail of your project. We understand the importance of not only providing quality design but equally important, effective communication with our clients and the project team as a whole.

Our executive team includes Chris Conwell, PE, President, who has over 20 years of structural engineering experience, and Bill Maurits, MCSE, CAD Manager/Engineering Designer, who has 30 years of CAD management, project management, and design experience.

Design Partners

We have established partnerships with Harold Hart & Assoc. for electrical design, Borbas Surveying & Mapping, LLC for surveying and mapping, and ECS Mid Atlantic for geotechnical and environmental services.

• Direct Generation & Utility Scale Photovoltaic Systems: Complete rooftop solar design and layout.
• Structural Engineering: Joist modeling - ISE can evaluate any roof system to determine additional roof capacity for the placement of solar modules.
• Surveying & Mapping: ALTA surveys, topographic and boundary surveys, construction stakeout.
• Electrical Engineering: Complete electrical design including interconnection applications, plans, and full medium and low voltage system design.
• Geotechnical Investigations: Soil testing, pile testing.
