Eikhof Design Group is a civil engineering firm that has been providing exceptional services to public agencies, private individuals, and businesses in Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, and Monterey Counties since 2007. We are a family-owned business located in Atascadero, California, and we take great pride in serving our community.

Our commitment to excellence and community service is evident in the design of the Atascadero Veterans Memorial, which we donated over $50,000 worth of engineering services to bring to the Central Coast. Our team secured additional donations from other local engineering-related firms, and we continue to give back to the community through various projects and initiatives.

Our Services

At Eikhof Design Group, we specialize in civil engineering consulting and provide the following services:

• Design: We provide design services for large park projects, small handicap ramps, and everything in between. Our designs can be seen throughout the Central Coast, including the Sunken Gardens and decorative sidewalks around the historic City Hall building in Atascadero.
• Development Review: We provide development review services for public agencies, ensuring that projects are up to code and meet all necessary regulations.
• Construction Oversight: We provide construction oversight services, ensuring that projects are built according to design specifications and meet all necessary regulations.
• Administrative Services: We provide administrative services, including permitting, zoning, and other regulatory processes.

Meet Our Team

Jeff van den Eikhof, Owner and Principal Engineer: Jeff is the owner and Principal Engineer of Eikhof Design Group and has over 27 years of engineering experience. He has worked in the Public and Private sector and is formerly the Contract City Engineer for the City of Guadalupe. He has also worked for the City of San Luis Obispo as a Civil Engineer and the City of Atascadero as the Deputy Director of Public Works.

Jeff graduated from Brigham Young University (BYU) in 1994 with a BS Degree in Civil Engineering. He is a Registered Civil Engineer in California and formerly held an engineering license in Oregon where he started his career. Jeff enjoys volunteering in the community and has served in various capacities, including President of the ASCE San Luis Obispo Branch in 2003. He currently serves as a Planning Commissioner for the City of Atascadero.

Geoff English, Project Manager: Geoff retired from the position of Director of Public Works for the City of Arroyo Grande in 2017, a position that he held since 2012. Geoff's municipal service career started in 1987 when he worked for the City of Santa Fe Springs in Southern California, followed by a relocation to the City of Atascadero in 1990. His career in Atascadero spanned nearly 23 years and included positions in the Community Services and Public Works Departments where he last served as the Deputy Director of Public Works for Operations. Geoff currently lives in Templeton and serves on the Board of Directors for the Templeton Community Services District.
