Empowering Professionals, Advancing Innovation

The Chinese-American Engineers and Scientists Association of Southern California (CESASC) is a non-profit professional organization founded in 1962. Our mission is to serve as a platform to enrich our competence through technical conferences and workshops, to showcase our accomplishments through our annual Achievement Awards, to broaden our career perspectives through global and local networking, and to protect our interests and rights through organizational efforts.

History and Mission

CESASC was founded as "Chinese Engineers' Club of Southern California" in 1962 and was renamed "Chinese-American Engineers and Scientists Association of Southern California" in 1968. Over the years, we have strived to promote the interests of our members by providing a platform for technical conferences, workshops, and networking opportunities. Our mission is to foster a spirit of cooperation and mutual respect among our members, promote technical advancements in science and engineering, and protect the interests of our members.

Achievement Awards

Since 1969, CESASC has presented Achievement Awards to recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to engineering and science, or those with distinguished professional careers in the United States. Our previous award recipients have included Nobel Laureates, members of the US National Academy of Sciences, National Academy of Engineering, and Institute of Medicine, Corporate and University executives, members of Committee 100, as well as public officials.

Technical Symposiums

To promote technology advancement among our members, we have sponsored annual Technical Symposiums focusing on various technical areas since 1986. These conferences have provided a forum for top researchers around the world to exchange ideas and findings about the latest advancements in science and technology. In 2010, we co-sponsored with UCLA to host an International Symposium on Materials for Enabling Nanodevices (ISMEN), which enabled us to establish models for future collaboration with academic institutes in the United States.

Scholarship, STEM, LEAP, and Youth Programs

The enrichment of youth programs has been an important goal for us for many years. The CESASC Scholarship Foundation was created as a companion charitable non-profit organization to CESASC, raising funds for scholarships and educational programs. The Foundation has enabled us to award scholarships annually to undergraduate students pursuing STEM-related fields. Additionally, we have launched LEAP (Learning, Education, and Academic Progress) and Youth Programs to encourage and support students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields.

Conclusion

CESASC is committed to promoting the interests of our members, fostering cooperation and mutual respect among our members, and contributing to the advancement of science and technology. We believe that by working together, we can create a stronger and more diverse community of engineers and scientists in Southern California.
