History

Our company has a rich history that dates back to 1977 when it was founded as Cater & Parks, Inc., a professional engineering company that provided mechanical and electrical engineering services to various industries, including commercial, healthcare, educational, industrial, and telecommunications. Over the years, the company underwent several changes, renaming itself to Parks Engineering Groups, Inc. in 1992, and then to Professional Engineering Groups, Inc. in 2001. Today, our company remains committed to delivering exceptional engineering services to our clients, with a team of experienced professionals who are passionate about delivering quality work.

Lighting Design

Lighting design is an integral part of our electrical engineering service. Our talented lighting designers and engineers ensure that our clients receive innovative and energy-efficient lighting solutions that meet their specific needs.

Power Distribution

Power distribution is a major emphasis for us. Our project managers have particular knowledge and expertise in providing a diverse range of power to the end loads, considering issues such as redundancy, critical emergency, single point failure, life safety, maintenance, and more.

Uninterruptible Power Systems

We have designed uninterpretable power systems that range from small self-contained units to large UPS systems using both rotary converters and static converters. Our systems have capacities of up to redundant 9000 KVA.

Grounding and Lightning Protection

Our experienced engineers have been involved in many grounding reviews of all types of facilities, including high-rise buildings, data facilities, industrial facilities, telecommunications facilities, and more. We use the latest SKM System Analysis, Inc. ground system software to provide effective ground system analysis and designs that apply to modern ground practices in large Data Center buildings, including EMI shielding interfaces.

Facility Review

Our team of experts offers facility reviews for all types of electrical and related systems. We review systems in a holistic manner to understand how all systems should work together, providing detailed reports with specific information describing the issues, recommendations for corrections, budget costs, and more.

Building Alarms

Our managers have experience in the design of and interface to many different types of automated building alarm and management systems. We have been actively involved in the development of the standard specification for Building Management Alarm Systems (BMAS) for Major Mission Critical Clients.

Fire Alarms Systems

Our engineers have experience in the full range of systems from single zone protection to high-rise multiplexed systems with color graphics and touch screen interface, as well as interfacing to BMS for activation of smoke control systems. Our recent designs have included VESDA (Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus) for earliest detection of potential problems in critical equipment areas and interface to agent suppression systems.

Security Systems

Our design experience covers all aspects of security systems, including fiber optic cabling, surveillance cameras, P/T/Z controllers, motion and door sensors, card readers, and more. We have been actively involved in the development of the Standard Specification for Security Systems for Major Mission Critical Clients.

Short Circuit, Over Current Coordination and Arc Flash Studies

Our team of experts conducts thorough studies on short circuit, over current coordination, and arc flash to ensure that our clients' electrical systems are designed and operated safely and efficiently.
