About Us

Ashlar Architecture & Engineering, LLC combines a wealth of in-house, professional knowledge with the desire to constantly evolve in order to provide client-focused, innovative design. Our primary staff possesses a combined 55 years of experience in the architectural, engineering, and construction industries. Our architects, engineers, designers, and project managers have been cultivated for their proven performance gained over decades of experience gained while working on a variety of projects with a wide range of sites and circumstances.

Our Team

Our team is led by two experienced professionals who have made significant contributions to the architectural and engineering industries.

• Joseph Gray, P.E.

Educated as a civil engineer with a concentration in Structural Engineering, Joe Gray has a solid foundation in building design. His detailed design knowledge, coupled with his extensive construction experience, provides Ashlar Architecture & Engineering with an immeasurable wealth of practical, real-world experience. From 1980 to 1991, Gray worked in construction and construction management. Notable projects include: Ross Park Mall, Mine Safety Appliance Headquarters, and Pittsburgh International Airport Mid-Field Terminal. In March 1997, Gray founded Gray Engineering Corp., an engineering consulting firm which quickly grew into a formidable engineering firm, providing full engineering services and specializing in land development planning and design.

• Marlene Myers, R.A. NCARB

Marlene Myers has considerable experience in commercial and residential design. For the first thirteen years of her career, she worked in Virginia for the Lessard Group, a firm that specialized in residential design, ranging from single-family homes to high-rise, mixed-use developments. Myers gained experience in the residential market as a project manager, leading her team to complete many successful projects in the eastern United States. In 2005, Myers and her young family moved back to Western Pennsylvania. Two years later, in 2007, she joined 4-Most Group, Inc. Architects as a project manager and later became a registered architect. There, she expanded her knowledge of commercial architecture by working on a variety of projects, including offices, religious projects, restaurants, and institutional facilities.
